INSECTS CANNOT SWEAT: THE THERMAL PRINCIPLE
All living organisms only develop within certain temperature ranges. Temperatures far above or below these ranges will slow down their development or cause them to die. For many insects, the ideal temperature range for their development is between 20 and 35 °C (68 and 95 °F) approximately.
Since they cannot regulate their own temperature (e.g. by sweating), an ambient temperature above 45 °C automatically causes an increase in body temperature. This causes the body proteins to change, which inevitably leads to death at all stages of the insect’s life.
IT’S AS SIMPLE AS THAT

Depending on the application, the devices can be distributed and positioned during ongoing business operations. This minimizes unnecessary downtime.

Using a detailed checklist, it is verified that all local conditions have been taken into account to ensure a safe and efficient disinfestation process.

The areas to be treated are slowly and gently heated to the target temperature of 50 to 60 °C.
The rising ambient temperature causes stress in the insects, causing them to leave their protected areas in search of cooler shelters.
4.
The target room temperature of 50 to 60 °C is maintained for a period of approximately 24 hours. The Termico heaters are fully automatic, gentle and energy-saving. The disinfestation effect is continuously monitored.
5.
Once the treatment is completed, fresh air is supplied to the treated rooms to cool them uniformly.
6.
Now the heating devices can be removed, and the buildings and facilities are cleaned as usual.

Termico solutions for Silo Heat Treatment
Our patented “Termico Silo THT” system enables individual heat treatments of Silos up to 500 m³ during normal production operations. The heated air is blown into the outlet cone of the Silo through a flexible hose and fed back into the heating unit via an integrated filter. The compact unit can be installed in any silo, works fully automatically and is very energy-efficient thanks to the air circulation process.
The slow increase of temperature in the areas treated minimizes the stress on the building structure, machines and electronic components. Our heaters, specially developed for continuous operation, are also characterized by a low surface temperature inside the devices, which ensures a safe use.
The individual planning, made in advance, ensures that exactly as much energy is used as needed – and no more. Our fully automatic heating devices switch themselves off when the target temperature is reached and only activate again when the temperature falls below a defined threshold. This guarantees maximum energy and cost efficiency.
The slow warming puts the pests under stress before they die. They leave their hiding places to seek cooler places. This means that they can usually be easily removed once they have been successfully combated.
A single application is usually enough to eliminate pest infestations. To prevent future infestations, additional precautions may need to be taken. Our Experts will be glad to advise you individually on this topic.
No, in contrast to chemical pest control through fumigation, our method does not require a permit and can be carried out at any time. Special training and annual training for your staff are also not required.
To operate our systems, 3-phase three-phase current (“strong current”) is required. If such a connection is not available, it can also be installed at short notice. Our Technicians organize the distribution of the electricity to the devices. We will be glad to advise you on this.
Heat disinfestation is only suitable for buildings and machines. Infected products cannot be treated using the Termico heat disinfestation process. It is recommended to remove food from the rooms to be treated in advance.
Treated rooms or silos generally cannot be used during heat treatment. Normal operation is usually possible without any problems in adjacent areas. More details can be stated after a site visit.
