INSECTS CANNOT SWEAT: THE THERMAL PRINCIPLE
All living organisms only develop within certain temperature ranges. Temperatures far above or below these ranges will slow down their development or cause them to die. For many insects, the ideal temperature range for their development is between 20 and 35 °C (68 and 95 °F) approximately.
Since they cannot regulate their own temperature (e.g. by sweating), an ambient temperature above 45 °C automatically causes an increase in body temperature. This causes the body proteins to change, which inevitably leads to death at all stages of the insect’s life.
IT’S AS SIMPLE AS THAT

Depending on the application, the devices can be distributed and positioned during ongoing business operations. This minimizes unnecessary downtime.

Using a detailed checklist, it is verified that all local conditions have been taken into account to ensure a safe and efficient disinfestation process.

The areas to be treated are slowly and gently heated to the target temperature of 50 to 60 °C.
The rising ambient temperature causes stress in the insects, causing them to leave their protected areas in search of cooler shelters.
4.
The target room temperature of 50 to 60 °C is maintained for a period of approximately 24 hours. The Termico heaters are fully automatic, gentle and energy-saving. The disinfestation effect is continuously monitored.
5.
Once the treatment is completed, fresh air is supplied to the treated rooms to cool them uniformly.
6.
Now the heating devices can be removed, and the buildings and facilities are cleaned as usual.

Termico solutions for Silo Heat Treatment
Our patented “Termico Silo THT” system enables individual heat treatments of Silos up to 500 m³ during normal production operations. The heated air is blown into the outlet cone of the Silo through a flexible hose and fed back into the heating unit via an integrated filter. The compact unit can be installed in any silo, works fully automatically and is very energy-efficient thanks to the air circulation process.
